What Is The Difference Between Finishes?
When considering your alloy wheel repair or wheel refurbishment, two popular options stand out: diamond cutting and powder coating. Each offers unique benefits, depending on your priorities for style and durability.
- Diamond Cutting: This process involves using a precision lathe to remove a thin layer of the alloy’s surface, creating a polished, reflective finish. It’s ideal for high-end wheels, delivering a sleek, luxury aesthetic that enhances the overall appearance of your car. Diamond cutting is perfect for intricate wheel designs and is often found on premium vehicles.
- Powder Coating: This method applies a powder-based paint that is baked onto the wheel, forming a durable and smooth finish. Powder coating is available in a wide range of colours and finishes, offering flexibility to customise your wheels. It’s highly resistant to chips, scratches, and corrosion, making it an excellent choice for everyday durability.
Both techniques are effective solutions for restoring or upgrading alloy wheels. Choose diamond cutting for a high-end, polished look or powder coating for lasting protection and versatility.
At Vantom Automotive, we specialise in both wheel refurbishment methods to meet your specific needs.
