Really professional service. Worked on my calipers. Removing old paint and starting afresh and a really professional job. Aside from the quality of work, what set them apart was going the extra mile to keep me updated at every stage. Wish I’d found them earlier.

I recently had four wheels refurbished by Vantom and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The wheels had been damaged by a tyre fitting company and needed to be completely refurbished. Vantom did an excellent job. The finish is absolutely spot on and the wheels look fantastic. The quality of the workmanship is immediately obvious and they look as good as new. They also dealt with the job professionally and efficiently, which was particularly appreciated given the circumstances. I’m very particular about the appearance of my car and the wheels are an important part of its overall look. Vantom delivered exactly the finish I wanted and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I was initially surprised when their website showed they managed comms through WhatsApp but I was impressed from start to finish with comms, replied within minutes every time and kept me updated throughout. Vantom carried out a professional assessment of the wheel prior to work starting and showed me on the balancing machine that the wheel was not only cracked but buckled as well. They then repaired and completed the work within 1 hour. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Very professional guys and good value for money.

Alloy Wheel Repair and Refurbishment in Macclesfield

Kerbed, corroded, buckled or cracked alloy wheels? Vantom Automotive repairs and refurbishes alloy wheels for drivers across Macclesfield, from Tytherington and Upton to Broken Cross, Hurdsfield and the town centre. Our specialist workshop is in Congleton, about eight miles down the A536, and from 26 October 2026, our mobile van can repair buckles and cracks at your home or workplace in Macclesfield.

Everything is done in-house: stripping, welding, straightening, powder coating and diamond cutting. Refurbishments come with a 12-month warranty.

Our Services for Macclesfield Drivers

Alloy wheel refurbishment

For kerb damage, corrosion, peeling lacquer or a colour change. Tyres off, stripped to bare metal, repaired, then a three-stage powder coat (primer, colour and lacquer) that's oven cured. £90 per wheel or £360 for four, with next-day turnaround as standard.

Diamond cut wheel repair

Diamond cut faces are re-machined on our in-house CNC lathe and lacquered. Each wheel is checked first, because a wheel can only be re-cut a limited number of times. £144 per wheel or £576 for four.

Buckled wheel repair

Steering wobble or vibration after a pothole? We measure the wheel, straighten it with controlled pressure and check it again. £96 per wheel, often while you wait.

Cracked wheel repair

A tyre that keeps losing air often means a crack in the inner barrel. Suitable cracks are TIG welded and pressure tested. £96 per crack. Cracks in the spokes or near the hub usually mean the wheel should be replaced, and we'll tell you honestly. More about alloy wheel welding.

Mobile buckle and crack repair

From 26 October 2026, our van can repair buckles and cracks at your home or workplace in Macclesfield: £96 per repair plus a £60 call-out (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6:30pm) or £120 out of hours and at weekends. Mobile repair details.

How We Refurbish Your Wheels

  1. Wheels removed and tyres taken off
  2. Acid dipped to bare metal and inspected for hidden damage
  3. Kerb damage, buckles and cracks repaired or welded
  4. Sandblasted for a clean surface
  5. Primer, colour and lacquer applied and oven cured
  6. Diamond cut on our CNC lathe, if chosen
  7. Tyres refitted, wheels balanced and refitted to your car

Full Refurbishment vs Smart Repair

Many mobile "smart repairs" only sand and paint the damaged area with the tyre still on. That can look fine at first, but the paint is softer than a baked finish and corrosion under the old coating is left in place, so it often chips or bubbles again.

A full refurbishment strips the whole wheel to bare metal first, so all the corrosion is removed, then applies a powder coat that's oven cured into a hard, chip-resistant finish. It costs more than a smart repair but lasts far longer. If one small scuff is the only problem, we'll tell you honestly whether a full refurbishment is worth it.

Colours and Finishes

Standard colours are included in the price, including silver, gloss black, satin black, anthracite and gunmetal. Shadow chrome, bronze and other special colours are priced on request, and we can colour match your existing wheels.

Macclesfield Alloy Wheel Repair FAQs

How much does alloy wheel refurbishment cost in Macclesfield?

Powder coated refurbishment is £90 per wheel or £360 for four. Diamond cut is £144 per wheel or £576 for four. Buckle and crack repairs are £96 each.

Can a cracked alloy wheel be repaired?

Many can. Cracks in the barrel or rim are usually TIG welded and pressure tested. Cracks in the spokes or around the hub usually mean replacement.

Can you repair a buckled wheel while I wait?

Often, yes. Send us photos and we'll confirm when you book.

Do you come to Macclesfield?

Yes, for buckle and crack repairs, from 26 October 2026. Refurbishment, powder coating and diamond cutting are done at our Congleton workshop.

Is powder coating better than painting?

For a full refurbishment, yes. A properly cured powder coat is tougher and more chip-resistant than most wet paints, as long as the wheel is stripped and prepared first.

Can you repair kerbed alloy wheels?

Yes. Kerb damage is repaired as part of every refurbishment, and deep gouges can be built back up with face welding for £36 extra.

How long does a refurbishment take?

Next-day turnaround is standard.
